Prostrate Plum Yew is a low-growing evergreen that prefers light to moderate shade, and, unlike other yews, is extremely deer-resistant and can be grown in the South. The glossy, needle-like, dark green foliage forms a low mound of gracefully arching branches and matures at about 3' tall and about 4 to 5' wide. Prostrate Plum Yew is a slow grower and require little if any pruning - although it can be pruned in early spring before the new growth emerges. Will grow in full sun, however the needles may be of a lighter green color, so some shade is recoomended to maintain deep green foliage color. Useful in the perennial shade garden, shady landscape beds and foundation plantings as a specimen, planted in small or large groups, or as a border.
