Elfin Thyme is a very low-growing, mat-forming groundcover that is perfect for use between stepping stones, as a border edger, groundcover for small areas or to sprawl over rocks in the rock garden or around ponds. Small pink flowers appear in summer atop the the attractive, grey-green foliage. Can be grown in most any soil provided there is very good drainage, even loose, rocky soils. Likes full sun to mostly sun. Plants can be cut back whenever to maintain appearance or to control growth. Slow growing.

Elfin Creeping Thyme Feeding Instructions

Feed lightly in Spring and then on an as needed basis through late Summer. We generally recommend a slow-release granular flower food, higher in the middle number: this is phospherous, which helps to promote strong root systems, strong stems and plenty of flowers. Alternatively, you may use a natural or organic, non-burning plant food. Refer to product label for application rates and instruction.

Spent flowers and/or stems may be deadheaded or sheared if necessary throughout the season to encourage new growth and/or flower buds. Plant may be cut back some during winter to rejuvinate.

This plant is generally not prone to serious pest or disease problems. In the event that a pest or disease problem occurs, treat with a product containing neem oil. Neem oil is a safe, triple-action product that can be used to control insects, mites and diseases.
