NOTE: At any time during the growing season you may use Hi Yield Lawn Weed Killer to eliminate weeds from Bermuda or Zoysia lawns. As with all chemicals, always follow instructions on label for sage mixing and application rates.

Mowing a Bermuda or Zoysia Lawn - During the growing season mow Bermuda and Zoysia at least once a week or as needed. Allowing a Bermuda lawn to grow to tall can cause unsightly scalping when mowed. Edging your Bermuda or Zoysia lawn every mowing or every other mowing is recommended and will prevent spreading into beds.TIP: We use a weed eater turned upside down to edgearound beds and surfaced areas.

Watering - Water as needed and deeply at least 1 time a week during extended dry periods. CAUTION: Do Not water lawns in the late evening or during the night as this may promote the development of damaging fungus. It is best to water during the early morning or daytime hours when the sun will quickly dry off water from the blades of grass.

Overseeding a Bermuda Lawn with Ryegrass - To overseed a bermuda lawn for winter, broadcast approximately 10 pounds of Ryegrass seed per 1,000 square feet of lawn area. Around the first of April begin cutting the ryegrass lower to allow bermuda to emerge from dormancy.

TIP: Before starting on the Bermuda or Zoysia Program it's a good idea to measure your lawn to determine total square footage. Doing so will tell you how much fertilizer or other products you will need to apply. To measure for square footage: Measure the length and width of the lawn area and multiply the two figures. (Example; 100' length x 100' width = 10,000 total square feet). If your lawn is in sections measure length x width of each section then adding the square feet of each section together to determine total square footage.
